Designs by Zo is a queer-owned and size-inclusive couture label created by Zoë “Zo” Weinmann (They/She), and based in St. Paul, Minnesota. Their mission is to provide customized fashion, evening wear, wedding attire, and costumes to anyone interested or in need. No matter the body type, identity, or personal style, they believe that clothing is one of the most important forms of self-expression and that all people should be able to wear things that truly make them feel like their best selves!
Zo developed a passion for designing clothes at a very young age, along with gaining much self-taught sewing & designing experience throughout their teen & early-adult years. In 2022, after receiving their Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design from the University of Minnesota, they became an assistant for Mx Apparel; a local fashion brand that designs products to accommodate a variety of needs commonly found among a variety of people, especially within the trans & nonbinary community. They developed further experience through the production process, part of which even involved designing products of their own for the collections released between early 2023 and late 2024. Since then, Zo has begun to turn couture design into a full-time career, taking on a variety of design commissions and garment alterations for any client who desires. They hope that their approach to inclusivity and slow fashion will make a positive impact on the people around them, as well as the fashion industry as a whole.
