The first step of every service is a consultation, which is meant for me to get to know you as a person, as well as what you’re interested in having me do for you!. After coordinating with me for when to meet via the contact form, this can be conducted either at my studio or virtually (i.e., Zoom, Google Meet, etc.). These meetings will last roughly between 20 minutes and 1 hour, and are free of charge!
During the Consultation
To the best of your abilities, please provide as much detail as you can about what exactly you want for your custom garment(s). You are welcome to show sketches, inspiration photos, or anything else to help describe your vision! I will also provide details on my construction process, the amount of time needed, and an estimated quote. Other topics covered during the discussion will include, but are not limited to:
The event, including the date, that you plan to wear the finished piece to (if applicable)
Deadline for completion
Specific garments/silhouettes you want me to make or alter
Colors, fabrics, trims, and any other details you'd like included
Design adaptability you wish for me to include (adjustability, convertible design, sensory, disability-related details/add-ons, etc.)
Best ways to communicate moving forward (email, Instagram, text, etc.)
Minimum deposit and payment methods
Expect to pay upfront at the end of the meeting.
View the "Time Frames & Costs" page for more information.
After the Consultation
Following the consultation is when I would need to take measurements. If the consultation is done in person, either can be done on the same day at the very end and is included in the total meeting time. Please also make sure to wear a fitted or lightweight layer of clothing to the meeting (i.e., t-shirt and leggings) so that the measurements can be taken as accurately as possible. If we did a virtual consultation, however, I would either need to schedule in-person measurements for a different day, or have you provide the required measurements yourself (which can either be done at home or by a tailor).
Once the consultation has concluded and the measurements have been obtained, communication will continue to be required while the design is being worked on. This is how I can provide updates about how everything is going, as well as coordinate with you for fittings, item pickups, and any additional payments. If you have questions at any step of the process, please feel free to message me as well!
