Rebirth of a Phoenix

Winter 2025

This four-piece drag ensemble was inspired by the phoenix; more specifically, its journey from the ashes to a colorful rebirth, and how it can resonate with the LGBTQ+ community's experiences in finding and accepting who they are. Local drag king, Prance Dashing, wore this ensemble for their performance at Seattle's "Fatlesque Fest Northwest" in January 2025, which concluded with them receiving an award for the impact they had on the audience while on stage.

Items + Key Features:
– A cropped point-waist blazer with crinkled iridescent overlays and gemstone buttons
– A detachable two-tone pleated overskirt, fastened with snap tape along the blazer waistline
– Pleated stretch-satin trousers, finished with pockets and "magic pull-release" side seams for a show-stopping reveal
– A stretch-satin dress shirt with an asymmetric jagged hem, fastened with snap tape along the front
